Certified Fitness Trainer and Founder
I am a mother of 3 boys who are entering the world of adulthood (what fun! Lol). I have worked for the State of Connecticut, helping children and families for the last 24 years. I am currently attending graduate school for a master’s degree in social work. While raising children and working a very challenging career, I stumbled across my love for fitness in 2012 when I stepped into a CrossFit gym for the first time. Fitness quickly become the center of my world following that day. I was surprised at how much I loved the feeling of getting stronger, faster, and healthier. I also have a passion for running and ran my first marathon in NYC in 2017. I’ve been running races ever since.
I wanted to share my love for fitness with others. Having been in the industry for a while, it was essential that I reached and connected with other women of color in a space where diversity is not prevalent. I believe health and wellness are a combination of attention to our physical and mental well-being. After attaining a Crossfit Level 1 Certificate in 2016 and coaching at a Crossfit gym, I decided to create Asantewaa Fitness & Wellness. My goal as your coach is to bring my education and experience to guide, support, and motivate you in reaching your fitness goals. My current certifications include:
